Clyburn Statement on Biden-Harris Administration’s New Actions to Protect Americans and Help Communities and Hospitals Battle the Omicron Variant

Washington, D.C. (December 21, 2021) —Today, Rep. James E. Clyburn, Chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, issued the following statement after President Biden announced new actions to continue to protect Americans and help communities respond to the Omicron variant:

“I applaud the Biden-Harris Administration’s comprehensive plan to combat the Omicron variant by ramping up free testing, increasing vaccinations, distributing critical supplies, and supporting hospitals and communities.  This plan will save lives while enabling vaccinated Americans to safely engage in normal activities and keeping businesses and schools open.  I urge all Americans protect themselves, their families, and their communities by getting vaccinated and boosted and by availing themselves of the coronavirus tests provided by this plan.”
