Clyburn Commends Biden-Harris Administration Efforts to Protect Americans Ahead of Winter

Washington, D.C. (October 25, 2022) – Today, the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, chaired by Rep. James E. Clyburn, released the following statement on the Biden-Harris Administration’s announcement of additional efforts to help Americans get their free, updated coronavirus vaccines and boosters this fall: 

“Under President Biden’s leadership, our nation has made significant strides in combating the coronavirus and supplying the American people with the tools they need to move forward safely.  Despite this remarkable progress, too many Americans remain at risk of potentially severe outcomes from the coronavirus because they are not up-to-date on vaccinations or boosters.  I commend the Biden-Harris Administration’s actions to ensure that Americans receive updated boosters for maximum protection against new and emerging variants, including efforts to reach older Americans and people of color who remain at increased risk.  Coronavirus vaccines and boosters have proven to be incredibly safe and remarkably effective.  They are our best shot to keep communities safe as we gather together this holiday season.  As we head into the winter months, I urge all Americans to get themselves and their loved ones vaccinated and boosted as soon as possible.”
